I use our 1940 Hotpoint all the time and it is so neat just to hear the sounds it makes: the compressor kicking on, the "click" of the door closing; all just seem so old fashioned.

And Pam- I do believe I read an article somewhere that since the older fridges don't have all the electric-hogging do-dads that modern ones do (auto defrost, ice makers, etc...) and are better insulated that they are more energy efficient than new.SusieQThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07472123869920926206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157754340221650294.post-64963942103374889402012-07-26T23:38:00.012-05:002012-07-26T23:38:00.012-05:00So sorry to hear about your Frigidaire! There are places online that convert them to modern compressors, don't know if you could get a local repair shop to do that or not. Good luck, and let me know if you are able to get it repaired!Missouri Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18057549777667213235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157754340221650294.post-51603790358058127462012-07-26T22:27:52.421-05:002012-07-26T22:27:52.421-05:00It's darling!
