Happy Singles Awareness Day!

I hate Valentine's Day with a passion.  As such, this year I am celebrating Singles Awareness Day today.  If you are single like me, have a great day!

If you do happen to have a special someone in your life, I hope that you have a great day as well!

Seeing as the snow is just now beginning to melt from the Great Blizzard, I haven't had a chance to do any junking lately, so, no new finds to share.  Sorry that the content on the blog has been kind of light lately.  When the nearest thrift shop is 45 minutes away, and the roads are a mess, I'm just going to stay home and save my money (hopefully eventually I will be able to build that house I am picturing in my mind!).

Have a great Monday!

  1. I was single for years and never went all out with a Valentine celebration, but I always did a little something for folks I cared about. But, then, I was always doing something for folks I cared about...still do. It's all in what you make of it really. I hope that you have a great day regardless of what you do with it!

How much snow did you get anyways? My daughter in Fayetteville had about 21 inches of snow at her house, while my dad, about 30 miles south, had about 10 inches of the fluffy stuff.

  2. I'm married for 25-1/2 years now and still think Valentine's Day is just a stupid marketing scheme. So there.

  3. I think St. Valentine would be shocked to see how a day in his name has been subverted by the card, jewelry and candy companies. I was singlel into my mid-30's but had a few boyfriends who were very romantic, which was nice. My husband hates "special dates" because he doesn't want to feel obligated to show someone he loves them. Fortunately for me, he shows me that every day of the year! So Happy Singles Awareness Day to you! P.S.--I try to visit you more often but for some reason my computer freezes up ALOT when I come to your blog. Today, no problem though.

  4. Darn! I had no idea about this day! I did wear black to school as a statement but also had a 'chocolate fountain' with strawberries, pound cake, pretzels, etc. for the staff. They seemed to like it and, of course, I had lots of little Valentines all day (including some fifth graders that have been a little 'ticked' at me). So, Happy Singles Awareness Day to you along with hopes the kids were good for you all day!

  5. Pixie - We had 20 inches the first go around, and a couple days later when the next wave went through, we got another 2 or 3 inches. It's been melting like crazy! I'm so excited that except for the big piles from the snow plows, the rest will be gone this week!

Christine - I'm so sorry that your computer freezes up when you visit! I don't know what might be causing that. Do you have issues when you visit any other blogs?

Shiny Brite - I did wear red today, even though I didn't want to. I did it for the kids. I received several special treats from the kiddos!
