Remember a couple of months ago when I shared about the soldier's funeral that we had in town? The one that that "church" came to protest? You can see my original post here.
Anyway, I ran across a blog yesterday from a family member of the soldier. They had a really nice write up about the community support along with a link to some YouTube videos and other articles on the event.
One photo inparticular really shows the sheer number of people that came out in support of the family. I couldn't get good photos of the event, so I was happy to find this one.
You can read the blog post from the family member here.
Here's a video from the day:
Anyway, I was pleased to find this information, and wanted to share with all of my great blogging friends. Have an amazing Monday!
P.S. As I don't want people to find my blog when they search for that "church", I ask that my readers refrain from naming them in comments, so that it won't show up in search terms. Thanks for your understanding.

Michael, have you ever seen the movie "Taking Chance"? If not, I highly recommend it. It was recommended to us after my daughter's friend lost his father in Iraq. It's based on the journals of a Marine colonel who served as escort for fallen warriors being returned to their homes for burial. I cried buckets through the first time, had to re-watch it to get the rest of the story that I had missed by loudly bawling. It's very touching, apolitical too, just shows the deep respect that this nation gives its fallen. Amen and amen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing more about my cousin's funeral. We were all truly touched with how your town supported his family. My dad, stepmom, and aunt drove out from AZ for it and they were just gobsmacked at how many people could fill your small town. I kept telling them that that's just how MO is. You take care of your military and their families.
