It's finally time to post the 100 follower giveaway! I love the items that are in this giveaway, and I hope that they appeal to you as well.
First up is a turquoise snowflake Pyrex divided dish. The color on this is great; so mid-century! I have managed to collect 3 of these little babies now, so it's time for one of them to make one of my followers happy!
Up next is a Hazel Atlas milk glass bowl with a turquoise kitchen design. To go along with this I have included a milk glass mug with a similar kitchen design in red. I suspect that the mug is also Hazel Atlas, however I can't find a maker's mark on it.
So, that's it. Not a large quantity of items, but good quality items. I'm hoping to be able to get these sent out in time so that the luck winner will have them in time for Christmas, but I can't guarantee that they will make it in time.
Now for the rules. Leave a comment below stating your favorite Christmas memory. That gets you one entry. Blog about the giveaway, and I'll give you a second entry (make sure you leave a link to the post). You must be a follower of Cul-De-Sac Shack (so, if you aren't, be sure to click the "follow" button on the left column). I will only ship to addresses in the continental US and Canada - sorry if you live outside of these areas. Entry period runs through 11:59 PM Central time Friday, December 17, 2010. If you have won one of my giveaways recently, please feel free to enter this one as well. The winner will be chosen using a random number generator from Random.org. All entries will be numbered in the order in which they are received.
Good luck, and thank you for reading Cul-De-Sac Shack! I can't believe that I actually made it to 100 followers!
Oh, and my favorite Christmas memory? Every year my little sister and I stand in front of the Christmas tree and have our picture taken. We have a photo for each year dating back to at least the late 1980s. It's a tradition, and oddly, I look forward to having that picture taken each year. We're a pretty close knit family. Merry Christmas!

First?!
ReplyDeleteI grew up not celebrating Christmas, and so my family and I have had the chance to make some traditions and memories kind of from scratch. Probably my favorite memory is the first time my eldest child was able to read well enough to stand at the Christmas dinner table and read the story of the Savior's birth aloud from Luke 2. It was so special to me, those precious words spoken by that precious voice.
And... blogged here.

One of my favorite Christmas memories is how each year my girls would wear new nightgowns for Christmas eve and we would sign carols and read the Christmas story. Open one present then off to bed. They were (and are) so sweet! Thanks for a chance to win this awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI added your giveaway to my sidebar! Congrats on over 100 followers!!
ReplyDeleteFun! Thanks for hosting this giveaway! My fav christmas memory is when I was 5 and my older sister and I snuck out of bed on Christmas Eve, grabbed the stockings off the mantle, and dupped them onto the hallway floor. We got caught after a while, but it was worth it! :)

One of xmas memories is standing in front of the christmas tree singing carols with my siblings. We had to sing 5 carols before we could open our presents.

Well my post about my memories did not make it...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday memory is riding around town, all bundled up in the car, looking at holiday light. We would sing, very bad, all the silly holiday songs and have a great time.
My favourite memories are buying the tree every year with my parents. We'd go out at night, so it was freezing cold, and Dad & I would make the final decision. Mt other was the Christmas I got a toy ironing board. I loved it! Sadly, as an adult, I hate to iron. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100!
My favourite Christmas memory is quite funny. It was not the year the I figured out my parent's were really Santa Claus, but the following year. Usually, my mother wrapped the presents and disguised her handwriting, but the year I was 7 my mom had the flu and my father did all the wrapping... and used his own handwriting which was really easy to spot as he always wrote in all capital letters. I knew right away (and had been hearing rumours at school, too, I think), but said nothing. I waited until the next Christmas, pretended to sleep on Christmas Eve but stayed up all night and spied on my parents putting out the presents and eating the cookies we left out for Santa. I confronted them the next morning (after opening my presents of course!). I was pretty steamed!

My dad passed away a few months ago, so my favorite memories revolve around him this year. He loved Christmas, but even more than that, he loved tormenting us kids about Christmas. Every year he reported that he heard on the news that Santa was sick and wouldn't be able to make it this year. We opened our family gifts on Christmas Eve and he would pass out the presents, then have to go to the bathroom, where he would stay for 20 minutes while we complained outside the door. Whenever he got a present, he would shake it and say, "Oh, it's a box of cigars!", which caused a fight between my sister and me the year I actually gave him cigars (I just *knew* she'd told him!).
ReplyDeleteWe would get so mad at him when we were kids, but now we all laugh about it and enjoy telling the tales. :)

Look at you! Already up to 107! That's pretty awesome. And what a sweet set of giveaways!
ReplyDeleteAs for my favorite Christmas memory... it's all about the tree. When I was around 11, we got a real Christmas tree, as we always do, from a nearby tree farm. Unfortunately, that year the weather hadn't yet given us a solid freeze. We got the tree home, and had it fully decorated, before we started noticing that it was full of nasty little bugs. My whole family had to spend our Christmas in a hotel while our house was bug-bombed. It was still a great family Christmas, though!
I do collect the Snowflakes but do not have the divided dish so I would love to win your give away and will happily become a follower as I have enjoyed your contributions to the Pyrex Collective. My favourite Christmas memories involve music: playing and listening. My youngest two sons sing in a Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys and just sang their third Messiah with my 13 year old singing a solo. This performance is vying for favourite Christmas memory.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you something I hated, but which makes a fond memory -- the church Christmas program! This was back in the 1960s. The older kids got to do the good stuff, like dress up in bathrobes for the Nativity story. We little kids had to memorize Bible verses and recite them. These verses were called "pieces," for some reason. We'd ask each other, "Do you have your piece memorized yet?" We'd forget most of the words and be scared stiff, to our parents' embarrassment. Afterwards, we'd have cookies and punch in the church basement, and get a little present. One year, my Sunday School teacher, Mrs. Kiser, gave all the kids in her class a silver dollar! I still have mine, and it's been way over 40 years. What a good memory.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet giveaway...would love to win these..
ReplyDeletehave been a follower for sometime now...my favorite Christmas memories are of the candy sacks my dad always made for each of us...even though he is gone we still carry on this tradition it is still my favorite part of Christmas...Thanks
