The Newest Addition to My Pyrex Collection

I think I mentioned in my eBay post that I had purchased a few pieces of Pyrex recently.  Well, the first piece arrived on Saturday.  I love the bright turquoise blue snowflakes on this 1 1/2 quart 043 casserole.  It was packed well and arrived unharmed, however the seller attached packing tape to it in several places (first to criss-cross the opening, then to help keep all of the bubble wrap in place).  Now, when packing tape has been attached to something like Pyrex that goes through the horrors of the US postal system, the results aren't always pretty.  If you haven't noticed, it's been HOT in the mid-west lately.  Now, a hot shipping environment combined with sticky packing tape attached to my Pyrex equals a lot of sticky residue left behind!  I finally got it all cleaned off yesterday, and it's ready to share!

Have a great Wednesday!  I have a 7:15am staff meeting today, and since it is a half hour drive, I got to be up EARLY!  I bet I sleep well tonight!

  1. Nice addition! Turquoise and white is such a nice combination.I loved your post in the Pyrex Collective.

    Have a good meeting! :)

  2. It will match your fridge dishes!

  3. That was one of your favorites from Etsy, wasn't it? I was eyeballing them whenever I'd come to your blog. I love the snowflake blue and white--it just looks cooooool. I bought a pretty little slag glass heart-shaped box recently and they had done the same thing--the tape securing the bubble wrap had overlapped onto the glass and it is really hard to get off once it's melted. The box was quite delicate to it took forever to get it off without being able to do my usual SCRUB SCRUB SCRUB!

  4. Snowflakes! In my humble opinion, these pieces are The Best.
