This small lidded milk glass dish was in a box of stuff I got at an auction recently. It has an attractive green and black stripe pattern on both the dish and the lid, with a small built in handle on the lid. I have no clue who made it or even what it is for. It's had a lot of use, as you can see in the second picture, part of the green and black stripe are missing from the dish. There are no markings on the piece to identify it. If you can help, please comment!

I could be completely in the field with that one...But I think it's a refrigerator dish and even a drippings jar.

Yeah, I'd agree with grease/drippings jar. Not familiar with the maker, though.
ReplyDeleteI would guess it's a fridge dish and maybe Hocking Glass. The stripes reminded me of Hazel Atlas Platonite but I looked through my HA book and nothing with these color stripes jumped out at me. Plus their dishes had lids with knobs. HA also usually always marked their stuff as did Hocking & Anchor Hocking. So I'm stumped, but it's a cute little bowl nevertheless and you get points for getting one with a lid!
